The Azores Portugal 🇵🇹

When I was first asked to take a tour to the Azores I didn’t actually know what or where it was.

The Azores is a beautiful archipelago of 9 islands situated in the middle of the North Atlantic.

They lie about 1,000 miles off the coast of Portugal.

The Azores is an autonomous region of Portugal, meaning the islands have their own President, some local laws and customs as well as dialects.

Each of the 9 islands is completely different.

The scenery is stunning, with each island being different. There is everything from lush greenery to volcanic landscapes.

The largest and most populated island is Sao Miguel and this is where one of the main airports is for flights out of the islands.

The Azores is a great place to visit if you are looking for somewhere with plenty of nature activities such as whale watching, hiking and mountain biking.

It’s very easy to reach from the UK.

It’s a little bit under the radar and it doesn’t feel over developed or touristy. It’s a fantastic place where you can enjoy wonderful scenery, fantastic food and a different culture on each island.
