Find the one that suits you best quickly and easily.
Where to Stay in Invergordon
The first thing to say is that Invergordon is a small place so there aren’t lots of hotels – infact there are 3.
I am going to start with the one that is nearest to Invergordon Port.

Where to Stay in Invergordon
The Ship Inn
The Ship Inn is located right across the road from Invergordon port, just by one of the main gates infact.
There are 9 bedrooms at the Ship Inn as follows;
- 5 x double bedded rooms with en suite bathrooms
- 1 x double room with shared bathroom
- 1 x double bedded room with sofa bed also and en suite bathroom
- 2 x double and twin bedded rooms with shared bathrooms
One of the rooms is dog friendly (The Nigg Suite) because this room has a patio door out to the garden area. There is a charge of £10 per dog per night with a maximum of 2 dogs allowed in the room.
There is free WIFI throughout the Ship Inn.
Rooms are crisp and clean with tea and coffee making facilities also.
There is free parking available at the Ship Inn.
It’s also within an easy walk of the train station, with a slightly longer walk from the main bus stop on the High Street.
If you are going to be working at the port you can’t get nearer than the Ship Inn.

Hotels in Invergordon
Little Ship Inn Rooms
Located on the main High Street of Invergordon is the Little Ship Rooms. This is a building that just has accommodation which is run by the Ship Inn.
There are 6 double bedded rooms with shared bathrooms and two double bedded rooms with an en suite bathroom.
There is a shared kitchen available for guests to use and a shared lounge area.
There is free WIFI throughout the Little Ship Inn.
These units are ideal for slightly longer stays giving you the chance to prepare your meals yourself or eat out at the Ship Inn if you want to also.
There is no breakfast available with these rooms on site but you can walk across to The Ship Inn in a couple of minutes if you want to book breakfast there.

Hotels in Invergordon
Tuckers Inn
Tuckers Inn is located just on the edge of Invergordon.
It is still within easy reach of the port and walkable from the train station (probably around 15 minutes) and the bus stop in the High Street (10 minute walk).
Tuckers Inn has an onsite bar and restaurant serving hearty meals. The restaurant looks out over the Cromarty Firth.
Bedrooms are all ensuite as follows;
- One single bedded room
- A twin bedded room
- A double bedded room
- A room with a double and twin beds
There is WIFI throughout Tuckers Inn including in the bedrooms.
All rooms have tea & coffee making facilities as well.
Breakfasts are hearty at Tuckers Inn.
There is parking at the front of Tuckers Inn. This can sometimes get quite busy.
During the summer months, Tuckers Inn is popular because of the outside bar seating area.

Hotels in Invergordon – Other Accommodation Options
Hotels in Invergordon
Kincraig Castle Hotel
Just 3 miles outside of Invergordon is the Kincraig Castle Hotel.
This lovely hotel sits in a slightly elevated position giving it great views of the fields that lead down to the Cromarty Firth.
There is plenty of free parking on site for guests.
The bar, lounge, and restaurant are lovely. The restaurant is a fine dining establishment and Kincraig also has Dalmore malt whiskies available too.
There is a wonderful fireplace in the lounge area which I used to head up to and practically sit in when I needed a fireplace fix in the winter.
There are 7 rooms which are all ensuite as follows;
- 4 double bedded rooms
- 1 single bedded room
- 1 twin bedded room
- 1 family room with double bed and single bed
You cannot travel by public transport to the Kincraig Castle Hotel. You are going to need a car or to get a taxi from Invergordon or Alness train station (it’s about the same distance to both).
If you are travelling to Kincraig Castle heading Southbound on the A9 take extra care. You have to turn right from the main road and there is no right turn reserve. The A9 is busy and drivers are not often expecting cars to be turning right at the hotel, so signal in plenty of time.
Invergordon Hotels
Hotels in Alness
There is more accommodation available in Alness. This is the next town to Invergordon and 3 miles away.
There is a regular bus service between Invergordon and Alness as well as a train service as well.
Invergordon Hotels
Hotels in Tain
Tain is a little further North from Invergordon. It is 13 miles away.
There are also buses and trains that run to Invergordon every day.

Where to Stay in Invergordon Conclusion
- The Ship Inn is best if you want to be closest to Invergordon Port. (It’s also where I would take guests for a meal if entertaining in Invergordon)
- The Little Ship Inn is best if you want the flexibility to cook your own meals.
- Kincraig Castle is a lovely spot for a meal, a coffee and catch up in the lounge or enjoy a cosy night in the winter months. In summer the terrace is lovely too.
