Editorial Policy – Content Creation

All content on the Professional Traveller has been written and created by me, Melanie Newdick.

The content is based on my knowledge of a subject. For example;

  • Content relating to coach holidays is based on 25 years experience of working on coach holidays all over the world.
  • Money-saving tips and guides are based on travelling for 35 years.
  • Highlands of Scotland content is based on living in the Highlands for 20 years.
  • Hotel reviews and trip reviews based on visits I have made to those places.

I have personally created, written, edited and published all the articles on The Professional Traveller. I do not use any guest writers.

I do not use artificial intelligence to write any of the content on this website.

I do use artificial intelligence to help me organise content by helping me to design content hubs, for keyword research and for question research in relation to topics.

However, the topics that I write about are based on things I have learned during my travel career, things I use, things I do and places I have visited.

I have paid to stay in all the places I have written about on this website. I have not received any discounted rate or sponsorship to write about these places. I have not received any special invitations, reduced travel, room upgrades or any other benefit, money or otherwise, to write these reviews.

The reviews are based purely on my experience as a traveller or a guest.

I have received any payment to review any of the activities I have undertaken in the places I have visited, nor have I received any reduced price or free tickets, vouchers or entries to any attractions or activities.

Purpose of The Professional Traveller

My purpose in setting up The Professional Traveller was to share my 30+ years of travel experience in a way that was useful to others.

I wanted to help people find bargain trips and deals just like I do, and to be able to make the most of a limited budget.

I also wanted to build an online business that generated income from affiliate sales, products and advertising which would allow me to travel and work remotely.
