Invergordon Museum
Invergordon Museum is located on the main street.
It has an eclectic mix of items on display that relate to the local history of Invergordon. You can find information about the rich naval history as well.
The museum isn’t large, so a visit doesn’t take long. However, it gives a good overview of the area’s history, especially Invergordon’s role in both World Wars.
The museum is free to visit, staffed by local volunteers and they often have a craft fair when cruise ships are visiting Invergordon.
Check out the Invergordon Museum website for more information.

I also like the Clootie McToot Cafe on the High Street, nice soups, cakes and sandwiches and it’s a community cafe that invests it profits back into the community.
My other favourite is Smugglers Point down on the old Admiralty Pier. It’s where I generally go for a quick breakfast on the pier.

Invergordon Local Suppliers FAQs
What Are The Best Invergordon Local Tours?
I would say the best Invergordon local tours are tours that are recommended by a local. These suppliers are tried and trusted and known for their great service and reviews.
What tours operate from Invergordon Cruise Port?
Many local operators run tours to top Highland attractions like Loch Ness, Dunrobin Castle, Cawdor Castle, whisky distilleries, Inverness and more. Tours range from half-day to full-day
Can I book a tour on the day I arrive in Invergordon?
I generally recommend booking tours in advance to avoid disappointment — especially in peak season — as seats can fill up.
Where do tour operators meet cruise ship passengers in Invergordon?
Most tour guides and drivers meet just outside the port gates or near the pedestrian crossing by the terminal. It’s a short walk from where ships dock, and operators often know each other and point passengers in the right direction.
Do independent tour operators guarantee I’ll return to my ship on time?
Reputable local suppliers time their tours to return passengers to port well before departure, often 75–90 minutes before sailing, to reduce risk of missing the ship.
Can I arrange a private or customised tour from the port?
Absolutely — several operators offer bespoke tours where you choose destinations and pacing (e.g., private Highland tours, whisky experiences, Outlander filming locations).
