Upper Deck Lounge Glasgow – Location

The lounge is accessed from the main concourse area of Glasgow Airport.

Once you have cleared security you walk past the corridor leading to Gates 1-26.

You then enter a central area and there is a sign to the Upper Deck Lounge. The entrance to the lounge is past the Caledonia Bar and the Beardmore Bar.

There are stairs to take you up to the lounge or a lift.

The entrance is pretty much a desk in a hallway.

The welcome was friendly and given I was visiting mid Sunday morning the lounge was pretty quiet.

Upper Deck Lounge Glasgow Airport – Price

I used my Priority Pass Standard Plus membership to access the lounge. As it is one of the 10 visits included with my membership the cost of entry was £20.60. I could have used the lounge for 3 hours but it was a short visit as I was taking a flight to Shetland.

You can book the lounge online through the Glasgow Airport website. The cost for adults is £27 for a maximum 3 hour visit.

Upper Deck Glasgow Airport – Facilities

• The lounge is mainly open plan.
• There is a mix of seating.
• The seats nearest the windows are small lounge chairs and tables.
• In the middle of the lounge there is bench style seating with higher tables and chairs.

Glasgow Airport Upper Deck – Food and Drink

I visited during breakfast time.

As a vegetarian I found the choice quite limited. There are no vegetarian options available to order, for example a vegetarian sausage for breakfast.

There was a machine to make your own pancakes and also a toasting machine. The toast came out as warmed bread rather than toast. There was sign saying that you could only put bread through the toasting machine once.

I also tried the porridge which was in soup kettle. It was a bit gelatinous but OK.

The coffee machine was good. I liked the fact that you could could get a variety of coffees as regular coffees or as decaffinated coffees.

Here is the lunch menu. Lunch is served from 10.30am to closing.

The lounge is quite small which is probably why the food selection is a bit limited. As a vegetarian my options would be limited for lunch too.

Upper Deck Lounge Glasgow Airport – Drinks Policy

One thing I really liked about the Upper Deck Lounge was that you were offered a drinks voucher when entering the lounge.

This voucher entitles the holder to a maximum of 4 alcoholic drinks during their lounge visit.

I think this is great and hope that more lounges will move towards these sorts of systems.

This helps to ensure that travellers are fit to fly when they reach the boarding gate.

Upperdeck Glasgow – Family Area

Tucked in beside the quiet area is a small family area.

This had some lounge seating and a small play area.

I did like the bookcase and there was a playmat, some little chairs and a dolls house.

Being in a corner meant there wasn’t really a view of the rest of the lounge.

Upper Deck Glasgow – Quiet Area

The quiet area was tiny, with high partitions dividing it off from the rest of the lounge. The height of the windows and the narrowness of the area meant it felt a bit hemmed in for me personally.

It did not look particularly inviting.

There were bar stool type seats with a good working area, however the partition around this area meant you wouldn’t be able to see anything.

• The staff were friendly and welcoming
• The lounge is perhaps better for shorter visits
• The food offering is a bit limited, particularly if you are vegetarian
• Alcoholic drinks are limited to 4 per person
