Best Luton Airport Lounge for Nervous Flyers 2026

Luton is a busy airport and at peak times it can be very crowded, noisy and overwhelming making it difficult for those of us that are nervous flyers.

Airport lounges help me deal with my flight anxiety and I’ve visited both the lounges in Luton airport so here is my guide to which one might be best for you if you have flight anxiety too.

I visited the Luton airport lounges using my Priority Pass airport lounge membership. It’s a travel essential for me and my Standard Plus Membership means each of my 10 included lounge visits works out at £20.60 each – better value than an airport meal.

🥇 No1 Lounge Luton Airport

The No 1 Lounge is on the ground floor of the airport building next to Gate 17.

If you are accessing the lounge via Priority Pass you can prebook to guarantee access for an additional £6. I would highly recommend this especially if travelling during peak hours as Luton gets very busy and crowded.

No 1 Lounge Luton facilities;

  • A range of seating options from dining tables to sofa seating, pairs of chairs and small tables and a workbench for 3 people
  • There is a tiny TV room that accommodates 2 people
  • The hot buffet runs all day and while it is a bit smaller than other No 1 Lounges, because the lounge is smaller, it still has a couple of hot dishes available.

🛋 My Lounge – A Laid-Back Alternative

The My Lounge in Luton Airport is on the upper level, with a reception that is on the ground floor next to the Accessorize shop. There is a lift or stairs for guests to take to access the lounge.

My Lounge is a good option if;

  • You are happy with chicken or mushroom gyros as your food option
  • There is a smaller selection of food available in the My Lounge even though it’s a much bigger lounge than the No 1
  • Want a less corporate and more casual type of lounge
  • Would like access to a family area

My Lounge is a good option in Luton. My main issue with My Lounge is that the food choices are limited, and even more so if you are a vegetarian like me.

✨ Why Nervous Flyers Should Use Luton Lounges

I have been travelling for work for over 37 years now for work – travelling is my job and I still get nervous about flying. The airport experience is a nerve jangling and overwhelming start to the flight, and just heightens my anxiety. That’s why I love using a lounge. It gives me something to look forward to when going through security. Whilst lounges can still be busy they are much nicer environments than sitting on a hard metal seat in the airport.

Here’s why I think airport lounges are great options for us nervous flyers;

  • A quieter and more comfortable space away from the crowds of a busy terminal.
  • No announcements – lounges have flight information boards so there are no loud announcements being made
  • Food and drink – I find it harder to be nervous about a flight when I have a nice buffet to enjoy – cake is great for calming nerves!
  • Better WIFI and power sockets which are great if you want to stream something or do some work

I have experienced Luton during a peak travel period. It was not fun. There were people sitting all over the floor because the seating was full, the cafes and restaurants were crowded and it was very noisy.

💼 Is Priority Pass Worth It for Nervous Flyers?

If you fly several times a year, the answer is usually yes.

If you plan to use airport lounges more than 3 times a year then airport lounge membership is usually the best value option.

My Priority Pass Membership is a travel essential as a nervous flyer. It gives me access to the greatest number of lounges and I can prebook too.

Lounge access is one of the easiest ways to upgrade your airport experience.

It turns Heathrow from a stressful departure point into a calmer and more comfortable start to journey.
