Aspire Lounge London Heathrow Terminal 5 Review

If you’re flying from London you might be thinking of using the Aspire Lounge London Heathrow Terminal 5.

I’ve used this lounge myself and in this review I’ll show you exactly what to expect, how to access it, what the food and facilities are like, and whether it’s good value for money.

I visited using my Priority Pass membership. My Standard Plus plan includes 10 visits per year, so my visit worked out at about £18.30 each based on the annual fee (great value compared with paying direct).

How To Buy Access to the Aspire Lounge Terminal 5

Book DirectBook 3rd PartyPriority Pass
£40 for 3 hours
£40.85 with my Holidayextras Discount for 3 hours
£18.30 with Priority Pass Standard Plus (10 included visits)

If you’re deciding how to enter, here’s the simple takeaway: Priority Pass is usually the best value if you’ll use lounges more than once or twice per year, while third-party passes can work well for one-off trips.

The Aspire Lounge is a paid entry lounge. This means you can access it whatever airline you are flying with and whatever type of class you are flying.

You can either;

  • Buy access directly on the Aspire Lounge – £40 per adult for a 3 hour stay
  • Buy access through via my discount code at Holidayextras – £39.56 for 3 hours guaranteed entry
  • Access via an airport lounges membership scheme such as DragonPass or Priority Pass. The cost to enter depends on your membership level.

Using Priority Pass In This Lounge

This lounge accepts Priority Pass, which is usually the best value way to get access. My entry to this lounge cost me £18.30 as I used one of my included 10 visits with Standard Plus Membership. I have an exclusive discount available which means Standard Plus Membership is £183 a year instead of £229, making it even better value.

You can book the Aspire Lounge through Priority Pass. I would highly recommend booking as there is a shortage of paid entry lounges (in my view and experience) at Terminal 5.

Inside the Lounge – My Experience

The Aspire Lounge at T5 is set around the corner of the terminal building.

Inside, you’ll find:

  • Armchairs and sofa seating
  • Booths
  • Leather bench seating and tables
  • Work bench with bar stool seating
  • Good views across the airport apron and runway areas

The lounge is set around the corner of the building so the overall space is limited. During my visit some areas of the lounge were closed off, reducing the space even further.

I visited when the lounge was around 90% full, so this review reflects what it’s like in real-world conditions rather than a quiet off-peak snapshot.

The airport lounge is worth it if you are looking for space that is easier to work in, for included food and drinks and for somewhere a bit more comfortable.

Can you access the Aspire Lounge with Priority Pass?

Yes, the Aspire Lounge at Heathrow Terminal 5 accepts Priority Pass subject to availability and capacity restrictions. I would highly recommend pre-booking this lounge through Priority Pass otherwise there is a high chance of getting turned away.

What food and drinks are available in the Aspire Lounge?

The lounge offers a good selection of hot and cold dishes on the buffet and there is a fully tended bar with a great selection of drinks available. A couple of hot drinks stations and some flavoured water stations are available too.

How Does the Aspire Lounge Compare to the Plaza Lounge in Heathrow Terminal 5?

I found the Aspire Lounge a slightly better experience than the Plaza Lounge. Both lounges and the airport were extremely busy.

Aspire Lounge Heathrow Terminal 5 – Final Verdict

The Aspire Lounget at Heathrow Terminal 5 is an improvement on being in the busy terminal area, especially if you want to do some work. I would highly recommend booking this lounge in advance as without a pre-booking there is a good chance you won’t be able to get in.

Since my visit this lounge has introduced a Ready to Order function which means you can scan and order food and drinks from your location in the lounge. This is a handy function given the space constraints of this lounge, which are felt more when it is busy.
