Easyjet Check Baggage Size
Easyjet Hold Baggage
Whenever you take an Easyjet flight you can book up to 3 bags to go in the hold.
These are sometimes referred to as checked baggage or checked-in baggage.
Let’s take a look at baggage weights, sizes and costs.
Easyjet Hold Baggage Weight
There are 5 weight options for hold luggage;
- 15kg
- 23kg
- 26kg
- 29kg
- 32kg
You can book up to 3 hold bags in total. They can be 3 different weights or 3 of the same weight, whatever suits you best.
The maximum hold luggage you can book is 96kg.
(You have an under-seat case included in your ticket price and you can book an extra cabin bag that weighs no more than 15kg as well. You must be able to lift this case into the overhead locker.)
Easyjet Hold Baggage Size
Whichever weight of hold baggage you choose it must meet an overall size requirement.
Its total size must be under 275cm.
That is not the total length or width – it’s the total of the length, width and depth combined.
For example, you could have a 100cm x 100cm x 74cm case. The total dimensions of this case, when the length, width and height are added together is 274cm so it complies with the hold requirements.
Easyjet Hold Baggage Costs
Baggage costs for Easyjet vary.
They vary according to the distance of the flight and how busy the flight is.
It is always cheapest to add luggage to your flight when you first make your booking.
If you have to log back in and add it then it will cost more.
The earlier you book the cheaper your flight will be and the cheaper your luggage will be.

Mobility Equipment Hold Baggage
There is no charge for up to 2 pieces of mobility equipment per passenger that needs them.
You can take walkers and walking sticks and crutches onto the plane.
You can also take your own wheelchairs and mobility scooters.
There are weight limits and strict rules about battery powered items as well.
Any mobility aids need to fit through the cabin door which is 1.7 metres high and 1.2 metres wide.
I would strongly advise requesting assistance if you need mobility aids as well as checking all the latest rules on the Easyjet website.

Musical Instruments as Hold Baggage
If your musical instrument doesn’t meet all of the following, it will need to be booked in as hold luggage.
- Must not exceed 75kg in weight, including the case
- Must not be more than 30cm above the back of the seat. The floor to the top of the seat is 114cm. The seat pad to the top of the seat is 68cm.
- Must have a handle that a seat belt can be placed through.
- Can only be placed in window seats.
Before you book a seat you need to check the size requirements and restrictions. You can find these on the Easyjet website. This includes maximum width, height above the seat etc.
The dimensions apply to the overall size of the instrument case, not the instrument itself.
To add the musical instrument to your booking you add another person and then put their name as ‘Mr Musical Instrument’ – yes really!
Don’t assume that because you are booking an extra seat you get to bring an extra underseat bag/case – you don’t.

Mobility Equipment
Every passenger that needs them can take up to two items of mobility equipment with them for free. This includes mobility scooters, wheelchairs, walking frames etc.
Mobility scooters can be taken in the hold of the aircraft. If they weigh more than 60kg you will need to check with Easyjet in advance.
There are also rules for batteries for mobility scooters so you need to check those carefully.
You can also take mobility equipment to the plane and these will then be stored in the hold for you.
I would strongly advise giving Easyjet as much notice as possible that you need special assistance and will have mobility aids.

Sporting Equipment
Sporting equipment can be taken on Easyjet flights and booked into as hold luggage.
When you are making your flight booking you can add sporting equipment on the page that asks if you would like to add hold luggage.
There is a picture of a bicycle and a button to click to add sporting equipment.
The costs for sporting equipment also vary depending on how busy the flight is. You can see the difference below for a flight to the same destination on two different dates.
