How to Get to Baku
How to Get To Baku From the UK?
There are a number of flights directly to Baku from the UK. The majority of these are with the national carrier Azerbaijan Airlines.
The easiest way to reach Baku is to fly.
There are direct flights from London which will cost around 300 pounds for a return flight, depending on the date that you want to travel.
The flight time is 5.5 hours from the UK.
Azerbaijan Airlines flies direct from London to Baku, which is the main airport for Azerbaijan.
If you would like a lower cost flight then you could take an indirect flight. These options are around Β£100-Β£120 less than a direct flight and make a nice two destination trip if you want to visit any of the countries along the way.

One important thing to note is that flights to Istanbul generally arrive at the main Istanbul airport, but flights to Baku depart from Sabiha Gokcen airport which is a couple of hours away. There are public transport connections between them but you need to allow plenty of time for the connection.
If you want to stay overnight at Sabiha Gokcen airport then I recommend the ISG Airport Hotel at Sabiha Gokcen.

Taking the Train
It is not possible to reach Baku via train. This is because the main train route comes from Tbilisi in Georgia. There is an ongoing war in the Western part of Azerbaijan and this means the border is closed between Georgia and Baku where the train would normally cross.
The war in Ukraine also affects the other overland routes from the UK.
For now the simplest and easiest way to get to Baku from the UK is to fly.
