If you’re deciding how to enter, here’s the simple takeaway: Priority Pass is usually the best value if you’ll use lounges more than once or twice per year, while third-party passes can work well for one-off trips.
The Plaza Lounge is a paid entry lounge. This means you can access it whatever airline you are flying with and whatever type of class you are flying.
You can either;
- Buy access directly on the Plaza Premium – £44.12 per adult for a 2 hour stay
- Buy access through via my discount code at Holidayextras – £38.70 for 3 hours guaranteed entry
- Access via an airport lounges membership scheme such as Priority Pass. The cost to enter depends on your membership level.

Using Priority Pass In This Lounge
This lounge accepts Priority Pass, which is usually the best value way to get access. My entry to this lounge cost me £20.60 as I used one of my included 10 visits with Standard Plus Membership.
You cannot prebook the Plaza Lounge through Priority Pass which means at peak times you are less likely to be able to access this lounge.
I had no problem accessing this lounge myself, but the airport and the lounge were very busy.

Inside the Lounge – My Experience
The Plaza Premium at Heathrow Terminal 5 is set around the corner of the terminal building.
Inside, you’ll find:
- Armchairs
- Some sofa seating – this area is generally reserved for guests booking direct
- Seating at the bar
- Good views across the airport apron and runway areas
The lounge is set around the corner of the building so the overall space is limited.
When I went to access the lounge I was told there might not be a seat – that’s a first! I thought the whole point of using a lounge was to be comfortable.
I visited when the lounge was almost completely full, so this review reflects what it’s like in real-world conditions rather than a quiet off-peak snapshot. I have to be honest and say that this lounge was so full that I eventually gave up and went to Wagamama for a meal instead.

Food & Drinks – What’s Included?
Drinks
Priority Pass guests have access to:
- Hot drinks available from the coffee machine
- Fully tended bar service with full drinks menu
- Premium drinks such as Champagne or Prosecco are available for an extra charge
When I visited the bar staff were having trouble keeping up with the demand for drinks – they were working under very difficult conditions.
Cold Buffet
There was a small selection of cold food and salad available on the buffet.
It was so busy that it was nearly impossible to keep the buffet fully stocked.
Hot Food
There were only a couple of hot dishes available on the buffet. There was only 1 or 2 options for vegetarians available.
- Meat pasta
- Curry dish
- Noodles

Is Priority Pass Worth It at Heathrow Terminal 5?
For most travellers, the answer to that is yes but only if you can prebook the Aspire Lounge in Terminal 5.
Here’s why:
- Walk-in price: +£40
- Priority Pass visit with Standard Plus Membership (and my readers discount) £20.60
- Food + drinks + comfort: Included
If you use this lounge just twice per year, Priority Pass often pays for itself.
For regular flyers, it’s one of the easiest ways to save money at Heathrow.
Plaza Premium Lounge T5 FAQs
Is the the Plaza Premium at Heathrow Terminal 5 worth it?
The airport lounge is worth it if you are looking for space that is easier to work in, for included food and drinks and for somewhere a bit more comfortable. It can be extremely busy though.
Can you access the Plaza Premium with Priority Pass?
Yes, the Plaza Premium at Heathrow Terminal 5 accepts Priority Pass subject to availability and capacity restrictions.
What food and drinks are available in the Plaza Premium Lounge?
The lounge offers a modest selection of hot and cold dishes on the buffet and there is a fully tended bar with a selection of drinks available.
How does the Plaza Premium Lounge Compare to the Aspire Lounge in Heathrow Terminal 5?
I found the Plaza Premium lounge so busy that it made is a much less enjoyable experience. There was only 1 seat available when I went in (only because the person had just left). The buffet was running down quickly and the person at the bar was having difficulty managing the number of requests.
Plaza Premium Lounge Heathrow Terminal 5 – Final Verdict
The Plaza Premium Lounge is a small improvement on being in the busy terminal area, especially if you want to do some work.
Personally I would avoid this lounge if it is at capacity as the experience isn’t premium. If I was visiting Heathrow I would prebook the Aspire Lounge to guarantee entry.
