Premier Inn Inverness River Ness

What I Like
Great location beside the River Ness. Everything is within easy reach of this hotel.
Professional Traveller Review
If you are a fan of Premier Inn hotels and you want to be in the best location in Inverness then this is the best hotel for you. It’s ideal if you don’t have a car and want to use public transport.
Premier Inn Inverness Centre River Ness Location
The address of the hotel is:
19-21 Huntly Street, Inverness, IV3 5PR
Sat Nav Directions: IV3 5PR
What 3 Words:///reds.discrepancy.slip
The Premier Inn Inverness Centre is located right beside the River Ness in the heart of Inverness.
It is within easy walking distance of the bus station and train station making it ideal if you plan to visit without a car.
It’s around 10 minutes walk to the bus or the train station and it’s level walking with no steps to negotiate.
Getting to the Inverness Premier Inn River Ness
The hotel is located on a one-way street so you need to approach it from the correct direction or it can get a little confusing.
If you are approaching from Inverness you need to take the A82 through the city centre. When you cross the river you will see an Aldi supermarket on your right-hand side, take the first left at the roundabout into Wells Street. Follow this along where it will bear right. You will then be following the river on your left.
There are some parking bays along this road and if you find one on the left then it might be a good option for parking. You do need to check the parking signs as some bays are for residents and some are for loading only.
If you are approaching from the A82 South then you need to continue into Inverness. Cross over the Tomnahurich Canal and keep straight on, rather than turning right at the roundabout. Keep going until you come to a set of traffic lights and bear left at the filter lane. This is Kenneth Street.
Follow it until you get to the roundabout and take the 4th exit into Wells Street. Approaching this way gives you the maximum chance of finding a parking space by the river.
Street parking is generally free of charge from 6 pm – 8 am.
Premier Inn Inverness River Ness Parking
At the front of the hotel are some bays where you should be able to drop off your luggage if you haven’t been able to find parking.
Parking at this hotel is very limited (12 spaces) and you cannot book it in advance. There is a ?13 charge for parking for up to 24 hours. There have been some comments about having to pay again for parking if you leave and then return.
With parking being so limited some guests have been loathed to take their cars out at all for fear of losing their space.
If you prefer a cheaper option, with more availability, head for the Cathedral car park.
From the front of the hotel head straight across at the traffic lights. There is a slight right-hand bend which is a junction. Turn left here. The Cathedral is directly in front of you and the car park is just past the Cathedral on your right-hand side. There is also an electric car charging point there as well.
It is a pay-and-display car park which costs approximately ?5 for 24 hours. You can use the RingGo service to pay by card or text. This is quite a handy service as you can renew your parking ticket without returning to the car.

Inverness Museum is just across the river from the hotel. It’s small and has regularly changing temporary exhibitions.

Inverness Cathedral is open for visitors if that’s your thing and there is a little cafe right behind the cathedral that is run as a social enterprise.
If you want to trace your family history then you might want to visit the Highland Archive Centre which is along the river from your hotel. Probably a 15 minute walk.
There is an indoor leisure centre with a pool, flumes and sports facilities about 15 minutes walk away. Also there is an ice rink.
Inverness Botanical Gardens is beside the leisure centre. This is free to enter and open all year round. It’s nice and cosy in winter too!

The Kitchen is very close to this Premier Inn. It’s a great place for a meal, and they have a great value lunch option too.
The Kitchen’s sister restaurant is the Mustard Seed, just across the river and equally good.
