As I was working I didn’t make it into the Spa but it looked really lovely. The spa and swimming pool is on the roof of the hotel. That means there are fantastic views looking across Riga, including the Freedom Monument, the old town and towards the river.

Getting Around
The Radisson Blu Riga is close to the Esplanade where there are tram stops.
There are also bus stops nearby. You can buy tickets at the small convenience stores dotted around (there is one close to the tram stops at the Esplanade)
There is a Narvesen convenience store just by the Orthodox Cathedral at the front of the hotel. They sell public transport tickets there.
You can travel on any public transport with these tickets. Check out all the public transport routes and information for Riga.

Restaurants
I ate at the Kolonade Restaurant. I was able to sit outside and admire the view of the Freedom Monument. The Kolonade has a diverse menu. I just had a light snack and some drinks. There are Latvian dishes to enjoy here. The restaurant sits beside the canal and has pretty seating outside, or inside. It was very clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful when I visited.
There are plenty of places to eat all around the Radisson Blu.
If you want to save money on your hotel and not book breakfast, there is a cute little bakery shop with a tiny cafe nearby. Head out of the front door of the hotel as if you are going to the Freedom Monument. Just before you reach the Orthodox Cathedral you will see the cafe on your left. It’s next to the Narvesen convenience store.

Things to Do
In the park, in front of the hotel is the Latvian National Museum of Art.
There is also a beautiful Orthodox cathedral in the park. It has wonderful golden domes which catch the light. They look beautiful as the sun sets. The building is very striking from the outside.
The KGB Museum is within easy walking distance of the hotel, alongwith plenty of shops in the area.
