  • Location Details: Near Gate 16 on the upper level. Take 3 flights of stairs or the lift up to the lounge. There is a WHSmith Newsagent at the entrance area.

Aspire Lounge Edinburgh – Quick Summary

The Aspire Lounge at Edinburgh Airport is located near Gate 16 and offers runway views, complimentary food and drinks, and WiFi. It’s open from 4:30am-8pm most days.

Access costs £46.99 booking direct, £43.99 via Edinburgh Airport, £30 via LoungePair, or £20.60 with Priority Pass Standard Plus membership (which includes 10 lounge visits). Priority Pass offers excellent value compared to direct booking.

The lounge serves hot breakfast until midday and rotating hot dishes from midday onwards including meat options like beef ragu and chicken tikka masala, plus vegetarian options like macaroni cheese. Cold buffet includes salads, cheeses, cereals, and fruit. Complimentary drinks include beer, wine, spirits, soft drinks, and hot beverages.

Facilities include runway views, power sockets, in-lounge toilets, flight information board, and Press Reader app access.

  • I visited this lounge during the middle of the day.
  • It was very busy and probably about three quarters full.
  • It was difficult to find a seat.

How You Can You Buy Access to the Aspire Lounge Edinburgh?

The Aspire Lounge is a paid entry lounge. This means you can access it whatever airline you are flying with an whatever type of class you are flying.

You can either;

  • Buy access directly on the Aspire Lounge Site – £46.99 per adult for a 3 hour stay
  • You can book through Edinburgh Airport – £43.99 per adult for a 3 hour stay
  • Buy access through a third party site such as LoungePair – £30 for a 3 hour stay and refundable if you can’t use your pass
  • Access via an airport lounges membership scheme such as Priority Pass. The cost to enter depends on your membership level.

Locating the Escape Lounge at Edinburgh Airport

  • The lounge is located close to Gate 16.
  • Once you pass through security and through the duty free hall turn right.
  • Keep walking past Burger King.
  • You will see a sign to the lounges and there is a WHSmith located at the entrance doorway.

Entering the Aspire Lounge

  • On entering the lounge you will need to show your boarding pass and your booking or your airport lounge membership card.
  • I used Priority Pass to enter the lounge.
  • It was quick and easy to enter despite it being very busy in the lounge.

Lounge View

  • One side of this lounge has large windows overlooking the runway at Edinburgh Airport
  • This gives the lounge a bright and open feel.

Seating

There are a variety of seating options available to visitors using the lounge including;

  • Lots of small tables for 2 people
  • Larger tables for 4 people
  • Booth seating on entrance to the right hand side on entry
  • Lounge style seating to the right hand side on entry
  • Large table with sockets for working near the buffet

WIFI

  • The WIFI was pretty good and I was able to download podcasts before I flew
  • You need to use a password to access the WIFI.

Power Sockets

There were plentiful sockets in the lounge including;

  • At floor level for the seating along the wall
  • In the centre of the big table

Toilets

  • There are toilets in the lounge which is handy

Flight Information Board

  • There is a flight information board located by the entrance desk

Newspapers and Magazines

  • Access to the lounge includes access to the Press Reader app. This app has hundreds of magazines and newspapers available to read.
  • You can download magazines and newspapers to read on the plane.

  • There is a tended bar for most alcoholic drinks at the Aspire Lounge.
  • There is a hot drinks machine located beside the bar serving coffees with hot water availble for tea.

Cold Food

There is a cold food buffet area in the Aspire Lounge. When I visited they were just changing over from the breakfast to daytime menu.

There was very limited breakfast options but within a few minutes lots of lovely salads and hot dishes appeared.

The Aspire Lounge offers a food menu with items available for an extra charge.

Prices were pretty reasonable compared to eating in the airport for example;

Is the Aspire Lounge Edinburgh Worth It?

At £46.99 it wouldn’t be great value unless you got the full duration of the stay, drank alcohol (within safe limits to fly) etc. However, with Priority Pass my visit only cost £20.60 so it was great value.

What food is in Aspire Lounge Edinburgh

Hot and cold breakfast is served until midday. From midday onwards there is one hot meat dish and one hot vegetarian/vegan dish served on the buffet generally with potatoes, plus there are salads and snacks on the cold counter.

The Aspire Lounge is open from 4.30am to 8pm Sunday to Friday and 4.30am to 7pm on Saturday.

If you are going to be travelling from Edinburgh Airport more than 5 times a year then Priority Pass is going to be worth it for great value lounge access.

Aspire Lounge Edinburgh – Final Verdict

  • This lounge was very busy when I visited which made it feel very noisy and quite crowded.
  • I also visited just as they were changing between breakfast and the daytime menu so there was a bit of a limited choice of food for a short while.
  • I like the large table for working at.
  • All the window seats were occupied when I visited.
