Plaza Premium Lounge Gatwick North – My Visit
- I visited this lounge on a Wednesday evening. I arrived at the lounge at around 6 pm.
- It was quiet, with less than 5 other people in the lounge.
- All areas of the lounge were accessible to use, so it was spacious.
- My flight was delayed so I stayed in the lounge until around 7.30 pm.
- A few more people came into the lounge during that time but there were no more than 12 at any one time.
- It was a very cold night in Gatwick and the lounge was a little cool in places.
Plaza Premium Gatwick North – Opening Times
- The lounge is open from 4 am to 8 pm every day, with the last entry at 7 pm.
- On Christmas Day the lounge opens at 6 am.

Locating the Plaza Premium Lounge Gatwick North
The lounge is located in the lounge suite.
Once you pass through security and then through the winding road that goes through duty-free you will come into the main part of the departures hall in Gatwick North.
Head towards the left. You will pass various shops and then see an escalator and a WHSmith at the bottom of it.
You will also see a sign for ‘lounges’.
The entrance to the lounge suite is just past the escalator on the right-hand side.
On entering the lounge suite corridor you will see two lifts on your left-hand side, and also a staircase.
The Plaza Premium Lounge is up 1 floor from ground level.

Entering the Plaza Premium Lounge Gatwick North
On entering the lounge you will need to show your boarding pass and your booking or your airport lounge membership card.
I used my Priority Pass membership, and as I have a StandardPlus membership my visit was one of my 10 included visits so it worked out at £20.60 for the visit.

Plaza Premium Gatwick North Facilities
Airport View
- The lounge is spacious and open.
- There are large windows across the airport apron area on two sides of the lounge, giving great views of plane and airport movement and operations.
Seating
There are a variety of seating options available to visitors using the lounge including;
- Sofas for groups of 4 or 6 people

- High-backed seats with small work tables

- Large curved sofa-style seating with higher tables

- Curved recessed seating with small tables
- Small round seats for groups of two with small tables
- Large tables for 4 or 6 – worktables
Lounge WIFI
- The WIFI was strong, stable and fast.
- I downloaded a film very quickly so I could watch it during my flight.
Plaza Premium Toilets
- There are toilets inside the Plaza Premium lounge so you don’t need to go outside of the lounge to access them which is handy.
- The toilets are universal rather than being male/female.
- It was a little hard to see if they were in use or not as the lighting was a bit lower and the green/red indicator to show the toilet was locked was quite small.
- The toilets were clean, although not spotless, with soap and dryers inside each cubicle.
Childrens Area
- There is a small children’s area in the lounge with some screens and soft toys.
- There were plenty of high chairs available for children in the lounge.
Flight Information Board
- At the entrance to the lounge is an airport display board which shows flight information with gate numbers.
- There are no announcements made in the airport lounge which makes for a nice relaxing atmosphere.
Newspapers and Magazines
- There is a selection of free newspapers and magazines available when entering the lounge.

Food and Drink
Drinks
- The Plaza Premium lounge operates a tended bar service for most drinks except tea and coffee and a beer that was available to serve yourself.
- There are plenty of drink options available including wines, beers, spirits, juices, soft drinks and mixers.
- Tea and coffee are available from a machine next to the bar.
- Next to this was the self-serve beer dispenser.
Cold Food
There is a salad bar in the Plaza Premium lounge.
When I visited this had;
- Cheese
- Sweetcorn
- Green Beans
- Jalapenos
- Tomatoes
- Gherkins
- Roasted vegetables
- Salad dressings
There was also a section with other cold food including;
- Bread
- Biscuits for cheese
- Breadsticks
- Chocolate brownies
Hot Food
- Vegetable pilaf
- Cauliflower cheese with peas
- Chicken curry
- Nachos
- Chilli
- Soup
There were packets of crisps available from behind the bar.

Plaza Premium Lounge – Walking Distance to Gates
There is a helpful notice in the lounge that gives the walking times to the various gates from the lounge.
FAQs
How Do I Get to Plaza Premium Gatwick?
There are lounges in both the North & South terminals. For the North terminal follow the signs for lounges. When you enter the lounge pavillion take the stairs or lift up one floor to reach the Plaza Premium Lounge.
Plaza Premium Lounge Gatwick North – Conclusion
- The lounge is spacious and a little quieter than I have found the No.1 Lounge downstairs
- The food selection was a bit limited but OK.
- The views across the airport apron were great.
- The lounge felt roomy and spacious and it was easy to find a nice quiet, comfortable spot.
- If I had paid £45 or £36 to access this lounge I would have been disappointed. However, for the £18.30 cost with Priority Pass, it was OK.
