No1 Lounge North Terminal Gatwick – My Visit
- I visited this lounge on a Tuesday evening. I arrived at the lounge at around 4 pm.
- The lounge was very quiet initially and then got much busier. This is because of a contract booking the lounge has for Tuesday evenings. Without prebooking you won’t be able to access this lounge on a Tuesday evening for December 2024 and probably January 2024.
- I wanted to use the library area of the lounge but this was just closing – this meant that when it became busier the main part of the lounge was quite busy.
- The lounge was a little cool in places and some people had coats over their knees.
- I pre-booked my entry on the Priority Pass website. I paid an extra ?6 fee to guarantee entry. Other people who had been prebooked were being turned away.
No 1 Lounge North Terminal Gatwick – Opening Times
- The lounge is open from 4 am to 8 pm every day.
- On Christmas Day the lounge opens from 5.50 am to 3.30 pm

Locating Gatwick Airport No1 Lounge North Terminal
The lounge is located in the lounge suite.
Once you pass through security and then through the winding road that goes through duty-free you will come into the main part of the departures hall in Gatwick North.
Head towards the left. You will pass various shops and then see an escalator and a WHSmith at the bottom of it.
You will also see a sign for ‘lounges’.
The entrance to the lounge suite is just past the escalator on the right-hand side.
On entering the lounge suite corridor you will see the No1 Lounge directly ahead of you at the far end of the corridor.

Entering the No1 Lounge Gatwick North Terminal
On entering the lounge you will need to show your boarding pass and your booking or your airport lounge membership card.
I used my Priority Pass membership, and as I have a StandardPlus membership my visit was one of my 10 included visits.

I find it a quieter space for working.

- The toilets are universal rather than being male/female.
- The toilets were very clean and spacious so I was easily able to change my jumper while I was in there.

- There is a flight information board in the main bar area of the lounge.
- There are no announcements made in the airport lounge, guests need to check the board themselves to see their gate number.

Food and Drink
Drinks
- The No1 lounge has a bar service for most drinks except some fruit juice, some flavoured waters and hot drinks such as tea and coffee.

Cold Food
When I arrived the selection was a bit low. I suspect that is because they were preparing for their booked contract guests.
There wasn’t a huge selection. The cold selection included;
- Cheese
- Coleslaw
- Couscous salad
- Tomatoes
- Bread rolls
There was also a section with other cold food including;
- Caramel bites
- Chocolate brownie bites

Hot Food
As a vegetarian, I found the selection a bit limited in terms of choice;
- Tomato and basil soup
- Pasta with pork sausage
- Chicken curry
- Warm rice

Pancake Station
There is a machine to make your own pancakes.
I tried this out but the area where the cooked pancake landed had bits of pancake left behind from other people still in the base. My pancake landed in this so I didn’t eat it.
My advice would be to put a napkin down at the base of the pancake maker before you make your pancake.

FAQs
Where is the No1 Lounge at Gatwick North?
The No1 Lounge at Gatwick North is in the Lounge Pavillion. Pass through duty free, turn left on entering the main terminal building. Follow the sign for lounges. Pass by WHSmith and the escalator and you will find the pavillion on your right.
No1 Lounge North Terminal Gatwick – Final Verdict
- Having used this lounge a lot in the past I was a little disappointed with the food selection. There previously was a larger selection of food available.
- Having not been able to use the library space it was quite difficult to find a space to work and to find a space with a power socket that worked.
- If I had paid £45 or £36 to access this lounge I would have been disappointed. However, for the £20.60 with Priority Pass it was OK.
- I would probably choose the Plaza Premium Lounge over the No1 Lounge for space and being able to work.
- The staff were very friendly and helpful.
