If you are coming to Invergordon Cruise Port in 2025 you need to know about some changes to where cruise ships will be berthed.
Read on for all the information about the shuttle buses including;
- Where they stop
- Where they run from
- Getting the bus to Inverness
Getting to Invergordon From The Cruise Port in 2025
How Do I Get to Invergordon from the Cruise Port?
For 2025 you have to take a shuttle bus to reach Invergordon from the cruise port. That’s because all ships (bar 3) will be berthed at Quay West and no guests are allowed to walk in or out on foot from this quay.
For 2025 all but 3 cruise ships visiting Invergordon will be berthed at Quay West. (The other 3 will be at Saltburn pier.)
This is the area of the port where the wind turbine columns were stored in 2024.
It’s at the side of the port heading towards Alness.
Getting to Invergordon in 2025
Guests arriving on cruise ships will need to take a free shuttle bus from the ship to get to Invergordon.
That’s all guests whether they are on a private tour, taking a taxi or wanting to take a walk into town.
No guests are allowed to walk into or out of the cruise port area.
Invergordon Cruise Port Shuttle Bus Departure Point
When you leave your ship turn right and walk down to the end of the pier.
You will see a small grey temporary building.
This is the local tourist office, staffed by volunteers.
They will be able to give you maps and direct you to anything specific you want to see in Invergordon.
This is where you board the shuttle bus.
Invergordon Port Shuttle Bus Stops
The shuttle bus now only has one stop.
The stop is outside an office building. This is on the left hand side as when you get off the shuttle bus.
The bus will stop facing the main road.
You need to walk to the right, with the main road on your left hand side.
You will then reach a pedestrian crossing.
Beside the pedestrian crossing you will see some trailers. These are private tour operators and there is also a taxi rank in this area as well.
Some private tour operators meet on the other side of the road – just cross using the pedestrian crossing to meet them.
Cross using the pedestrian crossing to reach Invergordon town centre. It is a short walk straight up King Street. This is the street directly infront of you when you have crossed the road at the pedestrian crossing.
Invergordon Cruise Port Shuttle Bus Timings
The shuttle buses will run on a loop during the daytime.
There may be some breaks in service to accommodate drivers hours breaks.
No one will be able to walk out of or into the port.
The buses will also transfer all crew members wishing to come into Invergordon.
Invergordon Cruise Port Shuttle Bus Cost
There is no cost to use the shuttle bus. It is kindly provided by the Port of Cromarty Firth and is free for all passengers and crew.
Shuttle Bus and Wheelchairs, Walkers, Buggies, Pushchairs and Scooters
The shuttle buses always include at least one bus that is adapted for wheelchairs, walking frames, pushchairs, scooters and more.
Returning to Invergordon Cruise Port on the Shuttle Bus
When the shuttle bus returns to Invergordon Cruise Port it drops off in a different place.
It drops off beside the gift shop and toilets.
However, if you have walking difficulties or prefer not to walk this extra distance back to the ship simply ask the driver and they will drop you off at the same place where you joined the shuttle bus.
My photo below shows the location of the cruise ships for 2025. The wind turbines won’t be there of course!

Practical Information for Invergordon Cruise Port in 2025
- The tourist information point, shop and toilets are located at Quay West for guests.
- Quay West does catch a bit more wind given it’s located a little farther out into the Cromarty Firth.
- There is no seating for guests waiting to go onto tours.
Getting from Invergordon Cruise Port to Inverness in 2025
The easiest and simplest way to get from Invergordon Cruise Port to Inverness in 2025 is to take a Stagecoach 925 bus from the cruise port pier to Inverness directly.
The buses leave from Quay West where the cruise ships dock. You can buy a ticket at the Stagecoach ticket desk in the port.
The cost is the same as locals pay for the service bus.
The great thing about this service is that it goes direct to Inverness with no stops along the way.
