If you’re flying from London Gatwick you might be thinking of using the Clubrooms Gatwick South Terminal.

I’ve used this lounge and this review I’ll show you exactly what to expect, how to access it, what the food and facilities are like, and whether it’s good value for money.

I visited using my Priority Pass membership which meant entry cost £20.60 as it was one of my 10 included visits.

Where Are the Clubrooms & How Do You Access Them?

Location

The Clubrooms are located airside in the Lounge Pavillion on the lower floor.

Head through security. Then turn left and follow signs for lounges.

At the end of the main part of the terminal building you will pass an escalator on your left and a shop on your right. Walk between these and the entrance to the lounge pavillion is on the right.

Take the lift or stairs down to the Clubrooms.

How To Buy Access to the Clubrooms Gatwick North Terminal

Book DirectPriority Pass
£44 for 3 hours£35.60 with Priority Pass Standard Plus (10 included visits)

If you’re deciding how to enter, here’s the simple takeaway: Priority Pass is usually the best value if you’ll use lounges more than once or twice per year, while third-party passes can work well for one-off trips.

The Clubrooms area a paid entry lounge. This means you can access it whatever airline you are flying with and whatever type of class you are flying.

You can either;

  • Buy access directly with Clubrooms – £44 per adult for a 3 hour stay
  • Access via an airport lounges membership scheme such as DragonPass or Priority Pass. The cost to enter depends on your membership level.

Inside the Clubrooms – My Experience

When I visited it was coming close to the end of the day. I visited within 90 minutes of the lounge closing. For this reason the lounge was probably a little quieter than it might have been earlier in the day.

The staff were super friendly and welcoming. Within a few minutes of being seated I had a nice non alcoholic cocktail and soon after I had a couple of dishes.

I tried the mushrooms on toast, which came with loads of rocket and also the fish finger burger. No other lounge had managed to cook this in my previous visits but this one was very nice.

The lounge was quiet with only 4 other people in the lounge.

The toilets were nice and clean too.

Is the Clubrooms worth it with Priority Pass?

For most travellers, the answer to that is yes.

Here’s why:

  • Walk-in price: +£44
  • Priority Pass visit with Standard Plus Membership (and my discount) £20.60 plus an additonal fee of £15 to reserve this lounge making a visit cost £35.60.
  • Food + drinks + comfort: Included

If you use this lounge just three times a year, Priority Pass generally pays for itself.

For regular flyers, it’s one of the easiest ways to save money at Gatwick.

Clubrooms Gatwick North FAQs

Are all drinks included in the entry price?

Yes. Clubrooms entry includes hosted table service, à la carte dining, and complimentary award-winning wines and spirits. There’s no drinks menu with prices — it’s all included.

What’s the dress code — can I wear shorts or a tracksuit?

Smart-casual clothing is required. The dress code bars themed or fancy-dress outfits, clothes with offensive slogans, sports shirts, beach flip flops, vests, and clothing that exposes midriffs or upper thighs. Tracksuits are not permitted, though you’re welcome to change before you leave. Smart shorts are generally fine for both men and women as long as they’re not beach-length.

Are children allowed?

Guests under the age of 12 are not permitted in Clubrooms lounges. This catches families out — it’s one of the top questions on TripAdvisor. Teenagers (12+) are fine but must follow the dress code.

Will breakfast still be available if my flight is at lunchtime?

The menus change over at midday so if you are in the lounge before 12 noon you can get the breakfast menu.

Clubrooms Gatwick North – Final Verdict

  • This was the best of all my visits to Clubrooms, which had been a bit of a mixed bag of experiences.
  • The service was genuinely warm and friendly.
  • To get the full value for entry you really need to make the most of the time available and the food and drinks.

Do you need a hotel at Gatwick Airport?

My favourite hotel at the North Terminal is the Sofitel. It’s connected by a walkway and has lovely comfy beds. You might want to avoid atrium view rooms as the noise can travel up the atrium and you can’t have your window blinds open (unless you want everyone to see you in your jim jams)
