Looking for the best Gatwick North lounge for business travellers?

As someone who is regularly travelling for work I love using an airport lounge so I can keep on top of important tasks, catch up on emails, or simply enjoy a quieter space.

I’ve visited all four lounges at Gatwick North Terminal so here is my comparison so you can find the one that suits you best.

I visited using my Priority Pass Membership so each lounge visit was £20.60 each – great value and better value than an airport meal!

✈️ Instant Verdict – Best Gatwick North Lounge for Business Travellers

I think the best lounge for business travellers at Gatwick North Terminal is the No 1 Lounge if it’s quieter or the Plaza Premium at peak travel times. The No 1 Lounge has places like the library where there are some nice work desks and it has the best buffet. However, it’s the most popular lounge so it’s often very busy. For a quieter lounge experience with a slightly reduced buffet but plenty of space I use the Plaza Premium.

  • Smaller and larger booths, variety of tables, sofa seating and lounge chairs & tables
  • Hot food buffet – the selection is slightly smaller than the No1 Lounge

The My Lounge is an informal relaxed style lounge.

  • Large shared work table (with no power sockets)
  • Small workbench areas with power sockets
  • Sofa and lounge seating

  • Power sockets around the outside of the lounge mainly

The My Lounge is aimed more at leisure travellers in my view. The lounge has games tables in it and this can make it a bit noisier.

The menu at the My Lounge is based around Chicken or Mushroom gyros so it’s more a lounge for a snack rather than a meal.

  • Buy access directly with No1 Lounges – £38 per adult for a 3 hour stay
  • Buy access using my discount code at HolidayExtras – £36.12 for a 3 hour stay

✨ Why Business Travellers Should Use Birmingham Airport Lounges

Birmingham is a busy airport and it’s set to keep growing with the addition of new routes and carriers. The main terminal area can be busy.

Here’s what they offer business travellers at Birmingham;

  • Better seating options with more choices for working
  • Better WiFi with ample capacity for downloading
  • Food and drink to keep you going while you work
  • Power sockets (although these are not at every seating point in the lounges)

Having a quieter space just to think a bit more clearly, read, or relax is helpful even if you don’t have work to do but want to think about a project or perhaps prepare for something coming up.

💼 Is Priority Pass Worth It for Business Travellers?

If you fly several times a year, the answer yes.

If you plan to use airport lounges less than 3 times a year then getting a good online deal is usually the way to go.

If you fly more than 3 times a year then an airport lounge membership such as Priority Pass Membership is a better value way to access airport lounges.

Priority Pass gives access to all the airport lounges at Gatwick Airport (apart from the Plaza Express which is a short stay lounge for peak demand) . You can also prebook your entry into the lounges, which guarantees your entry. It’s a small additional fee which is refunded if you cancel within 48 hours.

Airport lounge access turns Gatwick Airport into a much calmer and more productive experience.

Do you need a hotel at Gatwick Airport?

My favourite hotel at the North Terminal is the Sofitel. It’s connected by a walkway and has lovely comfy beds. You might want to avoid atrium view rooms as the noise can travel up the atrium and you can’t have your window blinds open (unless you want everyone to see you in your jim jams)
