Escape Lounge Manchester Airport – My Visit
- I visited this lounge during the middle of the day.
- It was around 50% full and it was easy to find a seat
- This lounge is split into two parts – one part is near the entrance area and the other part is near the buffet and the windows
- On the day I visited the lounge area near the entrance was being used for airline guests rather than general lounge access. This was going to continue until the terminal reconfiguration at Manchester Airport was completed.
- Just as I was leaving the lounge they were reconfiguring the partitions. This lounge changes capacity to adapt to demand. There are sections of the lounge that are shared with the 1903 Lounge next door, sliding partitions are used to make these areas available for whichever lounge has the most demand.
- Since I visited this lounge it has been refurbished and the layout is now a little different.

Escape Lounge Manchester T2 FAQs
Where exactly is the Escape Lounge in Terminal 2?
The lounge is airside on the upper departure level. After clearing security, head through the duty free area and follow the signs — you’ll find it opposite Gates 208 and 209, accessible by both stairs and lift.
Do I need to be flying with a specific airline to use the lounge?
No. The Escape Lounge in Terminal 2 is open to all passengers regardless of which airline or ticket class you’re travelling with. Note that if you’re flying Ryanair from Terminal 3, there’s a separate Escape Lounge there instead.
Can I just turn up on the day?
Yes, walk-ins are welcome subject to availability. However, pre-booking is recommended — especially during the busy May to October period — and must be done at least 24 hours before entry.
Can I bring children?
Yes, children of all ages are welcome. Under-3s get in free. Alcohol is only served to guests aged 18 and over.
Is Priority Pass Worth It to Access The Escape Lounge?
If you are going to be using airport lounges more than 3-5 times a year then Priority Pass is going to be worth it for great value lounge access.
With Priority Pass you can access any of the current lounges at Manchester Terminal (there is a new premier lounge coming that won’t be available to Priority Pass and other lounge card membership holders.
Escape Lounge Manchester T2 – Final Verdict
- This lounge is large and bright and airy (by the windows) – bit darker in the other section which was reserved for airline guests
- The food is good with plenty of choice available
- There are plenty of types of seating available, although power sockets are not by every table
- Using my Priority Pass lounge pass made accessing this lounge better value than having a meal in the airport.
