Are you thinking of visiting Dunfermline or looking for a hotel that is close to the M90 motorway?

Located just off J3 of the M90 the Sweet Chestnut Dunfermline is perfectly located if you want a convenient hotel North of the bridges before heading into Edinburgh.

It’s also located in the leisure park so there is plenty around including a cinema, bingo hall, garden centre and choice of places to eat.

Read on for my review of the Sweet Chestnut Dunfermline based on a 1 night stay in November 2023. We stayed in a family room which cost £88 not including breakfast.

Getting to the Sweet Chestnut Dunfermline

Exit the M90 at Junction 3. Follow the signs as if you are going into Dunfermline. This is the first junction if travelling North and the 3rd junction if travelling South on the M90.

You will see a Premier Inn on your left-hand side. Keep going and at the next roundabout go straight ahead.

At the second roundabout take the first exit to the left. This will bring you into the leisure park.

The Sweet Chestnut is located beside the Dobbies Garden Centre.

Hotel Parking

There is plenty of free parking at the hotel.

The car park is located at the front of the hotel so you may want to request front-facing rooms if you want to keep an eye on your vehicle.

Checking In

The reception for the hotel is located inside the Marstons Inn pub building. On entering the main door bear right slightly and there is a reception desk towards the rear of the building.

The hotel rooms are located in a separate building to the left of the pub building. You need your room key to open the front door.

Next door to the Sweet Chestnut is a Dobbies Garden centre. This has a cafe (slowest service ever though!), and a Waitrose shop in the front.
