Rooms
I stayed at the Vidamar Resort Hotel with a coach tour. All the guests loved their rooms as did I.
- The rooms were spacious, extremely clean, quiet and comfortable.
- All the rooms had free WIFI.
- The bathrooms were large and spacious with fluffy towelling robes and slippers.
- There were tea and coffee facilities which is not always the case in European hotels so this was much appreciated.
- The rooms were furnished in a nice modern style.
- There are different levels of rooms available – Prestige, Premium, and Superior
- Prestige rooms are available with nature, resort and some side sea views
- Superior rooms are the same as Prestige but on the upper floors
- Premium rooms are larger, include some suite options and have features such as balconies

One of the great things about this hotel is the dining available and the option to dine around within the various options in the hotel. Here’s what is available;
Ocean Restaurant – this serves breakfast from 7.30 am to 10.30 and dinner from 6.30 pm to 10.30 pm. It’s a very good buffet with a huge selection and in the evenings they have various cooking stations adding variety and local dishes.
Primadonna Italian Restaurant – Open Wednesday to Sunday 7-10.30 pm this restaurant offers a variety of pizza, pasta and Italian dishes. It also operates as a takeaway.
Sunset Restaurant and Bar – Open Monday to Saturday 10.30 am to 6 pm and serving lighter meals and lunches by the pool.

Wet Bar – serving drinks and snacks with swim-up seating
Dine Around – If you book an inclusive stay at the Vidamar Resort Algarve it will include dinner and breakfast at the Ocean Buffet restaurant. If you want to dine elsewhere you will have a 15 Euros credit per person or 7.50 Euros credit per child to use in any other resort restaurant. You will need to book in advance.
What’s Nearby
One of the main attractions nearby is the Salgados Lagoon. This is located next to the hotel and accessed via a boardwalk from the public car park.
This is a popular spot for birdwatching and attracts a large variety of birds.
There is a restaurant on the beach called Os Salgados. This has lovely views and features options such as ‘catch of the day’.
