Invergordon Banking and Currency

ATMs (Cashpoints in Invergordon)

What is the Currency in the Scottish Highlands?

The currency is Pounds Sterling. Many places accept contactless payments as well. You can use notes and coins issued by banks in England as well as those in Scotland.

There are two cashpoints (ATMs) in Invergordon.

Cashpoint at Mike Ross Arts

If you are visiting on a cruise ship follow the signs for private tours (turn right when disembarking the ship). Exit the port security gates.

At the crossing go straight over and straight ahead walking along King Street.

At the top of King Street when you reach the mural with the pipe band turn left.

You will pass the Stoltman Brothers shop and a little further on you will see Mike Ross Arts. The cashpoint is at the front of the building.

(Check out Mike Ross Arts while you are there as there is a great selection of artwork)

Cashpoint The Co-Operative Store

Exit the port security gates. Cross over at the pedestrian crossing and take the path immediately on your right-hand side.

Follow this past a small garden on your left-hand side and a penguin mural.

Keep going and you will reach the Co-operative store car park.

The ATM is at the front of the building.

Invergordon Post Office

Located in the High Street is Invergordon Post Office.

If you are coming from a cruise ship exit the port, go straight over the pedestrian crossing, and walk up King Street.

At the top, by the mural of the pipe band, turn right. The Post Office is across the street next to the K-Style takeaway.

You can exchange currency at the Post Office. Check here to see their exchange rates.

You can buy currency from them or you can sell currency to them. The rates vary depending on whether you are buying or selling and the rates update frequently too.

You can also post parcels. This can be cheaper than paying excess luggage fees depending on the weight of the item you wish to send.

You can find more about postage rates here.

The shop sells envelopes and mailing bags for posting items.

Shopping in Invergordon

Most shops in Invergordon accept contactless payments which makes paying by card easier. Just be aware of the exchange rates. If given the option it’s usually cheaper to pay in the local currency than anything else.

Most don’t accept Euros or foreign currency as cash.

Nickel and Dime accept Euros and Dollars for payment.
