Bloc Hotel Gatwick – What I Loved

Amazing to be able to lay in bed and see the runway. We also loved being able to step out of the hotel and be in the airport.

This hotel is super handy being right in the Gatwick Airport South terminal next to departures. You’ve got all the airport facilities on your doorstep. It’s handy for long layovers and they also do day-use options for daytime layovers too.

Is Bloc Hotel North or South Terminal Gatwick?

The Bloc Hotel is located right inside the South Terminal building at Gatwick Airport. The reception is on the 1st floor and there is a lift up from the ground floor.

What’s Nearby

There are shops, cafes, and restaurants all located within the Gatwick airport building. You can also use the restaurants of hotels on the airport site or attached to the terminal buildings such as the Sofitel, Premier Inn, Courtyard by Marriott, Hilton Hotel, etc.

Getting Around

The Bloc Hotel is ideal if you are travelling through Gatwick and need a hotel before or after your flight.

As it is inside the airport there is no parking for the hotel specifically. However, it is very accessible via public transport.

It is connected to London by train and the train station is right in the airport. You can use contactless to pay for tickets which is handy and helpful.

It is connected to the North Terminal by a free shuttle train that runs around the clock. The shuttle journey only takes a few minutes to get from one terminal to the other.

It’s also connected to other airports by an airport bus service. It takes around 2 hours to reach London Heathrow Airport by bus.

Restaurants

Just along from the Bloc Hotel reception is the Giraffe Restaurant. The menu is varied with plenty of interesting options. It’s a licensed restaurant too. They also do breakfast until 11am and then brunch.

On the lower level is a Costa Coffee, Greggs, and an M&S Food.

Things to Do

The main thing to do at Gatwick Airport is to fly of course! Departures is right next to the Bloc Hotel reception area.

The check in desks are on the ground floor of the airport building.

No it does not but right next door is Giraffe Restaurant which has a great and varied menu and directly opposite is a Cafe Nero for snacks, coffees, sandwiches etc.
