Does Priority Pass Give Free Meals?

  • As I mentioned before many Priority Pass lounges do have hot meals included. Most are buffet-type dishes with a selection of dishes available.
  • Although the food and drinks are free once inside the lounge, access itself is not free, as it requires a paid membership — you can see a full breakdown of the Priority Pass membership cost here.
  • (If you don’t join Priority Pass you still need to pay to access the lounges)

  • All airport lounges will provide snacks and drinks to all guests.
  • Snacks can be cakes, cheese and biscuits and sometimes soup.

Eating at the Airport Versus Eating in the Lounge

Let’s compare eating a meal at London Gatwick with eating in one of the airport lounges that has a hot meal service.

For comparison I am going to use Nandos Restaurant in London Gatwick South terminal.

  • Starter – Hallloumi Sticks £5
  • Main – 4 chicken thighs £11
  • Coke and a Pastel Del Nata cake – £6
  • Total Cost = £22

If you had an alcoholic drink then the cost would be more.

How Does That Cost Compare With Priority Pass Membership?

  • The answer to that depends on your membership level.
  • If you had Standard Membership with the discounts below and used your pass 6 times a year then each lounge visit would cost £32
  • This means that Priority Pass membership is comparable to the costs of eating in the airport if you include alcohol with your meal.
  • You also need to remember that you get all the other benefits that come with Priority Pass membership such as lounge access, upgraded WIFI and more.
  • If you had Standard Plus membership with the discounts below and you used your pass 10 times a year then each each lounge visit would cost £18.30.
  • This means that Priority Pass is better value than eating in the airport if you don’t drink alcohol with your meal, and much cheaper than eating in the airport if you do drink alcohol.
  • It’s also worth remembering that airport restaurants and cafes can be busy, noisy and crowded.
  • How much nicer to be able to eat a meal in an airport lounge.

👍 Get airport lounge access for just £18.30! 👍

Based on my special reader rate of £183 for Standard Plus Membership which includes 10 lounge visits
